HGT slow power window

i have this problem for years actually but maybe its time to sort it. the passenger power window is slow on the rise and and back down. really slow.

replace the electric motor?

No, the runners just need lubricating. Go buy some PTFE spray can be found in DIY shops and some motor factors.

Then either remove door cards, window fully up and gain access to the runners and spray them thoroughly OR you can use the straw type nozzle and put the windows fully down and spray in each lower corner of where the window runs into the door between the rubber seal. Run the windows up and down, repeat several times and your windows should now be much faster at closing and opening.

I have a problem on the drivers side, when it should wind up all the way with one flick of the button, however when I have the headlights on for example, it won't wind up all the way! It stops every inch or so, it's really annoying, any cures to this???

1. Lots of friction on the door runners making the door motor think its at the top.

2. Motor tired.

3. Power Windows Relay Knackered

4. Battery needs replacing, too much drain from lights.

5. Alternator knackered

The battery is 3 years old now and I was thinking of getting a new one in the new year!

Is a relay specific to the part in question or are they a generic part, sorry if this is a silly question, but I have a relay spare but not sure where it came from! (Might have come from an old indicator stalk!)

No idea bud, this are just guess that can contribute to your problem. Sounds something electrical if its only with your lights on. If you've got a sound system in your car. Go some where dark at night, switch your lights on and put the volume up but not to max, see if your lights dim. Could be alternator regulator, alternator or battery.

My cars battery is approx 6 yr old and is running fine.
