ive got a 1998 hgt and ive been tryin to find a company to re-map the ecu but no seems to be able to. ive been intouch with a few places and none of them are able to??? why is this?

They can't remap the HGT 147 as it hasn't got a OBD2 socket to plug into and remap the ecu. I think they have to change the chip(which can kill the ecu)
They can remap the HGT155 as they plug striaght into the ecu and do it that way, but not sure if they can do it on the 147. The best price i have got so far is Red Dot Racing and they can remap the 155.

almost any car car be tuned, but remap specifically means simple change of the software. your HGT will need chipped i suspect, which of course, can increase your insurance...

so what your sayin is i may have to get a whole new ecu instead of just remapping the existing one?
