hi guys thinking of upgrading my 115hlx to hgt, was wondering how badly they are on fuel compared to my current car, i usually get bout 30mpg mainly city driving, can any hgt owners tell me what kind of mpg they get. thanx

Well you can get really good really good mpg if you do motorway miles at 60mpg its almost as good as my girlfriends punto 1.2, but as soon as you hit a town or city then its like haveing a hole in your fuel tank unfortunatly...and on B roads you really will cry, because you can not help but drive it hard as it sounds amazing, i too had a 115 hlx and never looked back the hgt is a different animal!

but i have heard good stuff about a 145 cloverleaf, have a look at these aswell, although i think they look crap compared to the hgt...just my oppinion

The HGT is back and better then ever :) , got MOT'ed monday and passed!

I suggest you all stay of the roads as i need to get used to the power again, its twice the punto that i have been using ;)

60mpg?????? My HGTs drinks petrol, get bout 130-150 miles out of 25 quid, but I dont care, B E A utiful car, love it

lol... i ment 60mph not mpg!!!lol... sorry, it certainly will never get 60mpg!lol

but yes, you learn to not care about the fuel as you definatly get more attached then with anyother car that i have had at least..

also between 50-70 not many cars keep up which is nice!

cheers for the input, ive checked out the stats on parkers, it says the 115hlx does 34mpg and the 155hgt does 30mpg. Not a big difference really, the next problems gonna be my insurance im a young driver with 6 points on my licence! lol

The 6 points should not make that much difference.

It all depends on what you got them for.

I'm 22 with 6points too. Both for (can I dare say it) speeding. 1st one unlucky, 2nd one stupidity on the motorway (90.2mph).

Anyway, if your are for speeding then your 1st 3 will not make any difference whats so ever. Your next 3 might increase it a little but hardly anything.

I checked my insurance out and did not increase when I did a new quote.

You try and get 30 mpg LOL when your behind the wheel you feel like Mad Max on speed, the car loves acceleration and speed.

On my first HGT i think I paid bout 1400 quid with no points, through a broker, try confused.com

my 6 points was an IN10 (no insurance)decided to take my car for a spin before i had my licence that was 3 years ago, im under my moms name at the mo paying £700 fully comp on my 115hlx with 4yrs no claim tho

i just got 330 miles from a £52 tank of shell optimax @ 96.9p/L. Which makes 27.7mpg. Its a 155 Hgt, i could easily get that up to 35mpg ish i recon as there was no motorway driving and i wasnt driving as carefully as i could have(rev-wise).

I averaged exactly 30.79mpg in the 21145 miles i covered in my HGT, it peaked at 37.2mpg on motorway work and bottomed out with 26.9mpg when giving it a hard time.
