hgt engine noise

hi everyone ive got a 1998 bravo hgt.ive just got back from a 3week holiday and my car sounds abit ill.it has a tappety noise from the top end but i know it has hydraulic tappets and it was fine when i left so does anyone have any ideas?

add a drop of oil and let it tick over for a couple of mins the oil will have dranded from the tappets over than that they may have gone

Either that or i'll end up having to get a new camshaft.

Best to have a garage see if it's the cam or not.
