HGT 147 > HGT 155

Can anyone tell me what Fiat did to uprate the 20v engine to 155bhp?

Just wondered if it would be a relatively simple job to convert my 147 to a 155 if i could find one at a scrap yard?

Should be. I think the 155 has different gear ratios, and fly by wire throttle (compared with the cable system on the 147)...

I know the exhaust is different on the 155, maybe this is another way they got the power up , I dont think mounts etc are any different.

Not sure where the extra bhp comes form Si.

But I do know that both the 147 and the 155 use the same Geabox and ratios

instead of ally cam' carriers they are now made from some polycarbonate(plastic) and they also have variable inlet track system(VIS) basically, better off spending money on uprating engine/tuning work in my opinion.
I also think the earlier engine is a better one anyway my old Marea with 147 engine seemed faster and revved easier.
