well the petrol cost me 82.9p per litre

by my calculations that works out at 29mpg

which considering i drive hard i think is pretty good

what we need is to work out what centoevo or someone who drives their cento hard gets?

1242, chip, zorst, filter - even with driving at 110mph to get to motorway to meet a friend, then queuing up for 8 goes at Pod, not switching off in between, and driving 100 miles back at 90mph before filling up I still got 38mpg!!

Do you do a lot of town driving Donz?

that was 115miles of it, i haven't been above 50mph since i came back up from the meet and i do have a habit of only changing gear at the red line...

Donz what makes you think i drive mine hard[?][?] Ooo err! :p
Well i normally get 160-180 miles on £20 ;)
Worked it out a couple of months back and i'm averaging 25mpg.
Thats around town, blasting along back roads to work etc. oh and 15's don't help.

i don't know many drivers who don't drive their cento hard, except pete who seems to keep track of his fuel economy even when he goes down the 1/4 mile!!

Why you cheeky..............:D

The friend I was racing in her Golf GTI turbo at Pod has a fuel computer on hers, she was seeing 6mpg on each run!!

I drive mine pretty hard, even when thrashing it I struggle to get under 40mpg, but I don't do any queue driving (the advantage of working shifts!!)

Rough calculation for you - if you put 27 litres in (that's when my warning light comes on and stays on) that's near as dammit 6 gallons. so 240 miles would give you 40mpg.

and it's nothing to do with bloody getting old!! more like 'so much time and so little to do' [}:)];):D

I find if i fill up with Shells finest Optimax, my car feels more responsive and i get 30-40 more miles per tank, try it you'll like it!

well country roads all the way going between 30mph and 80 mph, averaging at 40mph, i managed better mileage than i would have at a steady motorway speed, so not definate proof i'm afraid, but it definatly doesn't hurt!

SEI POWER

r they any good ?? shall i get one and what about them FSE Boost Valves ??

Whitterz.jpg

FSE boost valves don't really work on SPI cinq's and seis as the fuel pressure regulator (which it replaces) is integral with the throttle body. You'd have to do some fairly major rerouting and repiping to get one to fit.

Try some nitrox octane boost. It apparently raises the octane level of normal unleaded by 20 points. Shell optimax is 2 or 3 points higher then normal unleaded. I'll leave it to ponder the outcome:D
