500 Hey All

Hi,
This is my daughters first car. She never deviated from wanting a 500, so was delighted to be given 'Fifi'!
I love the 17" wheels and the gloss black detail, replacing what is more commonly chrome.
Not quite so keen on the pink highlights - as there are times I have to drive this on my own
My first impressions of this 16 plate, 37k car are surprisingly good. There's not a single rattle and runs really smooth.
There's a couple of scuffs on the passenger side wheel arches, which have been touched up poorly, so I'll be looking to spray those - which leads me to asking - is the white paint single stage, or will there be a clear coat on top? Any pointers would be appreciated!
I've watched a few videos on YT, so will be checking the various drainage pipes and tops of struts....

I can appreciate that but mine's all black and chrome (with red leather seats).

So mines noddy in toyland!- and yours is noddy Holder from slade.

I think all solid colours are clearcoated nowadays.

I'm a hobbyist detailer - so at some point, I'll give it a machine polish and a ceramic coat - but obviously want to tidy up those scuffs first.

I just got mine cut and polished but after reading everything I could find decided to forego the ceramic coat and spend the money getting the alloys refurbished. Nothing serious but she's picked up a few scrapes in thirteen years despite my care.

I'm guessing that when my daughter gets behind the wheel on her 17th - she'll no doubt add some 'love marks' - but as I enjoy making paint as shiny as I can get it - a diy ceramic coating will only set me back around £60, and I already have the kit I need to prep the paintwork.
This will be my first attempt at spraying though - so worst case scenario - if I make a pigs ear of it - it'll cost a few hundred to put right. In for a penny, as they say....

trouble is with ceramic coatings is once there on there on!- bit like a tattoo and a similar pain to remove!.
