Ok. The other day I decided to swap the front leaf around as my 500 is listing on the drivers side. Leans more than 1/2 an inch on the right and looks stupid and being a tiny car others think "what a fat bastard he must be..."
I removed the leaf and turned it around.
Same with the rear coils, left swapped over to right.
Guess what?
Still the same!
Please don't say shock absorbers because they make no differnce.
Any takers...

Seriously though, ride height is dictated largely by springs and spacers. You've checked the springs how about the spacers? At the rear, there is one on each side on the top of the spring. I think that they are there primarily for noise reduction and from memory they are about 1.0 - 1.5cm thick. Mine are made of what looks like thick, hard rubber.

Thanks. I didn't check the spacers. Actually from memory I didn't see any on the top of the springs... I'll have another go at it.

From the factory repair manual for the 500 D/F -

Rear coil springs have 4 1/4 working coils with a free height of 221mm and a flexibility of 17mm/100kg.
