Today, I noticed my Fiat Abarth driving sluggishly between 45-50 mph and it wasn’t shifting properly. I tried accelerating faster than usual at a stoplight, and heard a noise. The car stayed at 35 mph for a while but eventually got up to 50 mph. I’m a single woman without the tools to inspect or fix it, so I’ll need to take it to the shop. There are no warning lights on the dashboard, and the mechanic said he’ll have to drive it himself because without a code or light, they won’t be able to diagnose or fix it. Would it be safe to continue driving it at low speeds until I can get it looked at?
