Help!!

I went back out to the mondeo today to try out my JVC KDG611 headunit that I bought a few weeks ago for my punto...which died so Ive had to wait until I get my focus to actually use this cd player, but I thought Id test fit it to the mondeo to see if it works.

I plugged all the cables in and the headunit makes a noise like its starting up or something, but it doesnt turn on atall, the faceplate power button doesnt turn it on, if I press and hold display it tells me the time for some reason, but it doesnt actually turn on.

It takes cds in but doesnt play them because it wont turn on

any suggestions?

Maybe the dead mondeo is the problem. Battery related? electronically related??? Because it has died the components have too?????

Sounds like the constant feed is there (that keeps the settings, clock etc) as it'll take / spit out CD's but the main feed is missing.

Just found out ignition has to be on, Im an idiot, its working fine
