I am terrible with cars.

Have got this light popping on and off for last 2 years but mainly off until today on a 50 mile drive it was on my dashboard for three quarters of the trip. I know it is bad but what does it mean as I have a Fiat Punto 1.2 (2004):

It's the handbrake on warning light. It's illuminated if the handbrake lever is not fully down, or it could be a problem with the switch under the handbrake lever or its wiring.

Massive thanks here and found out it was my brake fluid and got it sorted - I will be 100 years old by the time I get used to knowing the inside of cars, lol
