Technical Help???

Hiya hoping someone can help me out. I have a punto 1.2 60 s team. Car is overheating (common problem i've found since reading this forum) I replaced the thermostat which seemed to work for a few days but then back to the way it was. The radiator fan does not seem to be coming on at all. I tried turning the heaters on to pull some heat away but they are blowing cold ( does go hot sometimes but not for long) topped water in radiator today will check it tommorow didnt seem too low though. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Dont want to have to put it into a garage unless i really have to. Thanks

Sounds like the head gasket has gone

Did you bleed the system when you changed the thermostat?

Yea thought it might be the head gasket unsure if it was bleed(my dad done the work) how do i do this if it has not been bleed?

Open the bleed screws while topping up the coolant. Wait until coolant comes out the nipples before closing.

Run, and check again.

Make sure you rectify the fan issue promptly.
