Help with electrics required please

Brava 1.4S 96
At first when i braked the indicators went slower, now when i brake the indicators stop, when i take my foot off the brake they start again. Also when i either brake, indicate or select reverse the little light comes on on the fog light switch. Can anybody tell me where i should start looking please.

Bad Earth

It is caused be a bad earth. Usually.
The usual causes are damp connections which have rusted slightly.
Clean them up and squirt them with WD40 and all should be ok.

I've looked in my Haynes and the culprit would seem to be earthing points E5 and E6. Described by the Haynes as rear left and rear right earthing points, but no clue as to where they are located. Any ideas ?

I dont know for sure but they are usually near the rear lights - as theres a big loom of wires that come from any set of lights. Try taking the plastic trim off the boot behind the lights and have a look - from memory its just a few screws holding it in.

These sort of wiring problems are f*cking annoying arent they! I had them on my mini with just about every section of wiring !

Thanks all, sure enough if i removed the rear light cover and looked down below the cluster, i think icould just about make out a black wire screwed into the body. No way of getting to it without removing all the trim however. Dont know about you guys (and gals) but no matter how careful i try to be i end up breaking all the clips and have bits of trim hanging loose and rattling for evermore. Anyway just went doo-lally with a can of WD-40 and hey presto all fixed
