EGR is there for a reason....to prevent unwanted Nox released into the atsmosphere & lower cylinder temperature.

However if its a older style ulysse then it could be fitted right up at back of engine...hard to be seen even under the vehicle:(

True it is there for a reason but if its not working correctly it can make your car run really bad, and its cheaper to blank it of for now just to see if it cures the problem. I had one on a rover blanked off and it still passed the mot emissions ok and it ran much better.
I don't really agree with the egr idea anyway as it putting hot dirty exhaust gas back into the engine... Engines like Cold air full of oxygen...

Cheaper,for who...you?

Nox gasses cause respiratory problems & asthma.

3 million tons of Nox are spewed out into the atsmophere of Britain every year.

I think thats a good enough reason! I might also add EGR valves are fitted under european legislation & are there for the benefit of everyone!

(also the EGR valve is controlled by the airflow meter,it doesn't operate all of the time. The 'unburnt' gasses have also cooled down alot by the time they are re-introduced to the combustion chamber)
