This seems to be an on going problem for me :(
I had to change my rocker cover gasket a few months ago. it stopped leaking for a couple of weeks. Then it started to seep a little, Tom suggested some blue stuff which work for a liitle while then it started to seep again, took it to garage who tightened everything up again.... guess what.. it's seeping again!!!! lasted only 200 miles before it starts leaking :(

so gutted, any ideas.

Help please,

4 of my Fiats have done this, two Tipo's and two Puto's - it's a very common thing. Shite Gaskets are to blame.

Some heavy duty gasket sealer worked for me.

That being the case, the Fiat Factory is to blame, all 4 were brand new cars.

When they were replaced, they were torques to spec and still leaked. I stick by shite gaskets - no pun intended!

The bolts are too far apart, tighten them and the cover warps. The paper gasket is too thin to take up the gap.

well on my old punto I used "comma instant gasket" along with the fiat rubber gasket and it held absolutely fine. give it a go chap :)

But my dreams they aren't as empty, As my conscience seems to be...

I guess so, the first Punto's were change 5 times and all to no avail, until the sealant was used.

Ironically, all 3 Bravo's were fine in this respect.

My brava is on its second gasket. whats the best stuff to use to get the oil off? my mechanic recommended gunk degreaser, but recommended using it with a cloth at the back of the engine and avoid washing or steam cleaning.

Gasket

if it is warped is it possible to unwarp it or do i need a new rocker head?

Re: Gasket

If its warped, you can take it to an engineer to have it skimmed.

Mine leeks a tad bit. I'll sort mine when i get time to paint or polish the cover

Re: Gasket

i used to get a bit of sweating from my 1.4's but nothing measurable... talking maybe half a cup in a year?? there were NEVER any drips on the monoblock driveway (father would have made sure i knew all about it, lol)

i wouldn't worry unless your losing power, or having to top up regularly...
