HELP!!! WARNING LIGHT!

Well I dont know if this is serious. On my way home from work today, I took the car out of the car park and started it up.

Its a 1.6 S REG SX with 45K on the clock. Ive never had a fault with it from the day I got it. When I turned the key, instead of the little yellow 'CODE' light coming on for a few seconds and then going off it stayed on for 15 mins! I turned the car off, re-started it and it was fine, it hasnt stayed on since, and ive been out a few times since. Any possible reasons for this??

I could make it difficult if you want

I believe, and this is backed up by personal experience, that the code light staying on means low battery voltage. Daft way of showing it.

Mine started doing that and a week or so later the battery was dead.
