Hello, im Nicolás. I'm from Argentina, owner of a palio fire 1.2 16v.
Over here its impossible to swap engines becouse importation its almost closed so the prices are not cheap. So, my only choice it's to power up my lil'engine.
Already did a "port and polish", had a pretty much good advance, although aint enough.
Tried to trick MAP sensor, changing resistences, something like a "chip" i guess. Didn't have any adventage, instead lost perfomance and less "economy".
1-Would like to know if i can go 1.242 to 1.368, if someone knows if it works, would like an opinion (since its pretty the most expensive mod)
2-Any camshaft? Any STD tune up (by tune up i mean between crankshaft and camshaft and between "air" camshaft and "exhaust" camshaft. Already did some tune up here, moved forward a bit camshaft's cog wheel? (dont know if spelled it right) Didnt try between both camshafts themselves.
3-Any known trick with the electronic trothle? Any mod to the trothle body itself?
4-Wont get induction air kit, i dont think it really changes anything.
5-Something else i may be not looking for?
6-Just seen there is a cinquecento 1.2 16v, its the same engine? If it is which are the differences?

Im sorry if its hard to read, english is not my native language. Please would appreciate a lot if anyone with knowledges helps, since in my country those engines are not popular for tuning

There was no "native" 1.2 16v Cinquecento, but people have put them (and the Stilo/Idea 1.4 16v) into the Cinq and Sei.

Fair bit of stuff in the Cinq/Sei section. They've also been turbocharged. There are also cams out there from Columbo e Borianni, etc. and exhaust manifolds from supersprint.

But the Cinq/Sei section is certainly the place to look.

All right, had a look over there but didnt know if it was the same engine. Thanks, altough i did some questions that may not be already asked

Edit-1: Its better to get a 1.368 block (8 valves, the only one i can achieve) and put my head on it to get a bigger displacement?

I guess ill stay 1242. New question its possible to change valve springs, get some harder ones? How much harder?

Couldn't edit.
Saw it is possible to turbo. Which turbo? 1.7td palio's turbo works? Need to decomp using 0.4, 0.5kg? Would work with just a remap?

Mine is a 2006, doesn't have double valve springs, although cams seems to be pretty sharp since at 4000 start to push harded, just to 5000, 5250 then its backwards. I think it's may be 'couse of spring bounces, right?. So, if a get those double valve springs and lifters i would be revving at least at 7000rpm? Saw some old puntos achieving 7k easily, without forcing the engine. My only problem its every 1242 it's a fire, 8 or 16valve mpi (as i said im from Argentina)

I think so, the fact is i dont have any information about this engine, if there are cams, valve springs and lifters that i can use, would like to know names, codes, how to buy (gotta say it again, im from south america).

Thanks for to answering so far, still want to get something good about this project.
