General Help! Too Much Oil!

Hi all, I believe from the dipstick reasding I have put too much oil in my car. I just put in a litre bottle of oil.

Would a litre over maximum cause any major problems?

If anyone could advise me on this it would be much appreciated.

too much oil can cause just as much damage as too little - but what would constitute too much in the GP i dont know

That's far too much oil.

The min to max mark on the dip stick is about a litre.
You'll need to get someone to empty some out
