Guys I am contemplating my next car change. I cant decide between Panda 100hp or a GP 1.9 Diesel Sporting. My missus already has a GP 1.4 Active Sport so I know what thats like at a base level.

I was wondering if anyone has owned either so could give me a recomendation for either based on their experiences. I would also appreciate any reasonings as well. I have sat in both and I loved both. I think recomendations from current owners will help (y) .

MPG, handling, looks and performance all matter to me but overall it must be enjoyable as well. I dont want hum drum. I have read as much as I possibly can on here and professional reviews but as its gonna cost a load of money I want to make the right descision.

I await your enthusiatic responses.

test drive them both thats the only way you will know which is best for you

Plenty own both pop down to the relevent sections but ultimeatly its down to the test drive

As a 100hp owner its a no contest for me.....however the diesel engine in the punto is probably better for tuning gains. Havent driven one so i couldn't say. If only the gp sporting multijet engine was in the 100hp....

I would be keeping anything I buy standard. No performance mods or body changes. This is one of the reasons either car is desirable, both look great from the factory.

Re 100hp the ride is constantly mentioned as hard. I have owned a mk2 Punto Sporting and I thought that handled ok but was harsh. My current standard 1.2 8v mk2 Punto I much prefer as it is alot smoother. How do you find the ride quality on the 100hp?

the GP's are really nice to drive, the MJ sporting felt very nippy thanks to the diesal engine, both are nice cars, but like the salewoman said, the 100hp is more of an ethuisiast's car and I think she's right, there were 2 things that put me off the punto MJ sporting, that was the price, and the fact you dont get the digital climate control you get in the panda (although you do get ESP)
and its for those reasons it was easier for me to opt for another 100hp, plus, I love it! lol

Cheers James. I have never owned a car with climate or air con so either will be a step up for me. As you have had 2 Pandas that really does speak volumes.
