Hi there guys,

Got a question for you.

I have a 2002 Abarth stilo and 2 or so months ago it decided to stop going into gear, so took to my local fiat specialist who found a corroded wiring loom so we replaced that still no selection, we then tried another gbox ecu still to no avail.

Then the gbox was removed where we found that there was a broken sensor on the back of the box. So replaced that. Put it all back together tested all manually and examiner is coming up with the correct reading as is the dashboard. All sensors, potentiometers, have all been tested too.

The problem is that we now cant the Examiner to cailibrate the gearbox...

Any thoughts people?

Theres no many Abarth stilos up here so my mechanic has never came accross this fault.......

Thanks in advance

Get a VAGCOM cable for a tenner off of eBay and download Yani's FiatEcuScan software (it's free) and run the calibration on there and see how you get on. Myself and Danhans have done it successfully with our Selespeeds, so hopefully it'll work for you and be a darn sight cheaper than hooking up to Examiner! (y)

Have you bled the hydraulic fluid into the selespeed actuator? Do you have hydaraulic pressure (at least 40 bar)?
Check the rest of the electronic ecus for errors, sometimes calibration cannot be done due to errors in abs or engine ecus.
Check the clutch rod length using examiner, from memory it should be around 17 mm, but that could be wrong as i havent done this for a while. Try altering the length and retrying.
Does it give any other clues as to why it wont calibrate?

Abarth Selespeed Examiner Fault?

Hi there PPL

Further to my previous post, my mechanic has informed me that the fault he is getting from his examiner is...

Solenoid Valve Selection

Having checked all solenoids and all sensors and the actuator and it all being fine we are kinda stumped as to what could be causing this...

Any ideas Folks

Thanks in advance

Do you have anything draining off the power? Is the examiner connecting properly just not letting you calibrate. It is fully compatable yes? Its always best to look at the simple things as these are just as likely as a more complex mechanical issues.
