Hi all,

Ive purchased an engine that had been tuned and rebuilt to go into an X1/9.

Im going to put the lump into my uno but the distributor location is different, so my question is, do I just remove the blanking plate from the end of the cam cover and put my distributor straight in?

Thanks.

Is this a mk1 or mk2?. Mk1 you can put the dizzy on the cam box no problem mk2 is a bit more awkward. More details required mate.

edit, just read your post on turbocolletive, so the answers yes

Hi, thanks. I tried fitting the dizzy today but the engine is fitted with a 130TC cam and for some reason the dizzy wont go on????

It fits over the end of the cam ok and the rotor shaft fits in ok but it wont tighten flush, its about 3mm out.

Sounds like the cam lacks the notch cut in the end to drive the distributor. Then again I'm confused because the 130TC is a twincam motor, so you wouldn't be fitting a cam from that into an Uno Turbo motor :)

Why not mount the X1/9 distributor in the Turbo engine block, removing its contact breaker assembly to leave only the rotor and cap?
