Hi all I have a 2004 1.9jtd scudo its a battered peace of s..t but I love it when I got it it had been fitted with a second hand engine with 30000 miles on it and it ran well anyway to cut a long story short the torx bolts holding the engine to the mounting have snapped and the engine is now sitting on the subframe
questions
1 how do I get the broken bolts out
2 is there an easy fix
3 is there anywhere near Carmarthen that can do it for me
regards

Not the answer you're looking for,
But I'd call an engineer out. they may be able to extract the broken bolt and helecoil a new thread insert in its place.

a quick Google search brought up those guys. They're called Hargreaves engineering. they rebuild engines. If they can't fix your van, then I'm sure they'll know someone who can. as like the rest of us who fix and build cars... we know people who can sort our mistakes and get us out of a tight spot ?

All the best,

Hi,
access would be the enemy here..

you could use a "reverse drill " to get the broken bolts out, and the threads should still be o.k.,
but I'm assuming something was WRONG for them to break in the 1st place..,

I think I will have to drop the engine a bit to get access
the engine was put in by a friend of the previous owner so I don't know really what he has done or if anything has been left off
Do you know if there are any support bars supposed to be on the engine to stop it moving
Bency thanks I an going to try fix it myself first calling an engineer is a last resort as I cant move the van and I am out in the sticks so a call out will cost a pretty penny
