Could anyone tell me what the circular warning light is that has popped up on my way to work today. My manual is at home and I wanted to check it was nothing too serious.

The light is next to the indicator lights on the dashboard and is circular with three vertical lines on either side.

Thanks for both the help and the welcome, although the fact that the light seems to be just the handbrake light makes me feel a bit dumb..

Thanks anyway, at least I hope the car won't self combust tonight on the way home.

I have done a check and the light is not the handbrake light, it is higher up on the dashboard and next to the headlight and indicator lights.

Any help would be grand.

If it is the handbrake light then it occasionally flickers on my Brava under acceleration. I presumed it just needed adjusting so I'm not worried about it.
Mine does that Steve and has since the cambelt was changed. If it's the same reason check the connector on your brake fluid reservoir. Mine was loose and the dodgey connection was causing the light to flicker.
