help, new owner

Hi Everyone,

I have just bought my wife a 52plate 1.6 active stilo, the bloke said all was well with the car. just as i was to drive off he siad there was a battery fault which he fixed, but he bough a alternator just incase and i could take it with me. sure enough, 5 miles down the road the warning system said alternator fault!!!!!!!!!!!!

the next morning when i started it up the power stearing wont work???? is it connected to the alternator problem?

I have tried to swap the alternator but cannot get to the bottom bolt, it is impossible!! this is my firs fiat experience I only paid £1400 for it and it suggests 33k miles with stamps in the book, but until i get this lot sorted im not sure if its a good deal or not

can anyone help please?

Hi, Welcome to the FF.

Because the electric power steering motor use so much power, it stops working if the alternator stops charging the battery.

thats a relief, just the one fault, for now
