Help needed!

Hi everyone!

I've just bought a Fiat Punto 2000 and I've some problems which I need to solve asap. Please give me some suggestions and the costs of it so that I roughly know how much to fork out. Thanks!

1) Exhaust manifold - It's quite rusty and I'm worried about it as it's winter now.

2) Door - Driver's side door makes some kind of a 'squeaky' noise when opening or closing. The seller tried spraying grease but it still make some noise.

3) Horn - The horn is not working at all and I actually manage to find the fuses but not very sure which one is to be checked and where can I find the fuses.

4) Paint - I'm thinking of getting a new paint for the car but I'm not sure how much it's going to cost me. Could you guys give me a rough idea?

5) Modification - I'm also thinking of modifying my car but not sure how to start with and I'm not very sure which are the parts that I can actually modify.

That's all about it. Hope you guys can give me some suggestions & prices on those few points. Really appreciate all the help!

Not sure about the other stuff but for a whole car respray your looking at about £800 for it to be done properly mate. If you are interested let me know. I have a few good contacts!

Nothing to worry about its normal

2) Door - Driver's side door makes some kind of a 'squeaky' noise when opening or closing. The seller tried spraying grease but it still make some noise.

Possibly the check strap is broken, dont spray grease use proper grease if this doesnt work then you will need to get another check strap ( bestmfrom a scrapyard)

3) Horn - The horn is not working at all and I actually manage to find the fuses but not very sure which one is to be checked and where can I find the fuses.

Check all the fuses and replace any that are blown

4) Paint - I'm thinking of getting a new paint for the car but I'm not sure how much it's going to cost me. Could you guys give me a rough idea?

Are you sure the car wouldnt come out right with a good T-cut and polish or do you want to change the colour?

5) Modification - I'm also thinking of modifying my car but not sure how to start with and I'm not very sure which are the parts that I can actually modify.

alloy wheels, sideskirts ,dropped suspension remap,

That's all about it. Hope you guys can give me some suggestions & prices on those few points. Really appreciate all the help!

You can get them brand new from fiat or you could get a second hand one from a scrappy (probably your best option to be honest) if you want an original one have a look at the eper link at the top of the page.

Yeah I checked that but I couldn't find it.

Haha but instead, I found it in the ebay.
Oh by the way, how do you know whether it's a 8V or 16V car?
And another thing is the reverse gear is a lift up version, so how am I going to get aftermarket type of gear knobs?

If you post up your model type e.g 55s e.t.c then someone will be able to tell you whether its 8 or 16 valve

By the way, is it ok if I buy my own parts and bring to the garage for them to fix them on?

Depends on the garage, some garages prefer to supply and fit, others are happy enough to let you supply and they fit, it would be best to speak to them and ask them yourself.
