Technical Help Needed, knocking noise...

Need a couple of pointers as the Wifes multi has just anoyed the hell out of me...

1.9JTD front gearbox mount failed, fixed this back up for a while and eventually sourced a replacement. Tried to fit replacement last Friday, went a breeze until nipping up the main bolt, gearbox to sprung mount, and the bolt sheared...

It's taken me till today to finally get a replacement bolt (10mm 1.25 x 150mm). So I was quite happy, re-fitted everything as I had left it all jacked up, gearbox supported, etc.

Start her up OK, a bit of an initial knock (put this down to being jacked up, etc) reverse down the driveway, all OK. Put her in 1st and try to drive back up the driveway and I am greeted with a hell of a knocking sound, not good :bang:

Jacked back up, both front wheels rotate OK, everything looks square and lined up, nothing I have touched is loose... Not sure what else to check now, any ideas gratefully received!

After the front gearbox mount went on mine last year...I still had knocking after fixing. There is an upper engine mount? towards drivers side not far from power steering fluid resevoir. Check it, mine needed tightened even though it was good and tight before gearbox mount failed.

Sorry about crappy description but you should hopefully know what Im talking about.

Cheers for that, had a look and it seems fine. I think the knocking is drive shaft or similar related, but not sure why as I was careful to keep everything jacked and pretty much in place throughout. Plus the fact it reverses ok has me puzzled...
