ok, so my key fob for the r/c/locking stoped working. I changed the batteries and no difference. Went to fiat and they said I need 2 new keys at £70 but only if i have the number from a white tag that comes with the keys - which i don't. Otherwise the cost is around £500 !!! Is there anything else I can try or do and what has actually happened.

I may be wrong, but if you have the Red key, you do not need the little white tag...

I did say to them I had the red key but they said it made no difference. Can anyone else clarify. Also do I presumbe that if i lock the doors manually that the alarm and imobiliser do not switch on

i don't think the red key has the c/l code on it as it doesn't hav the c/l button on the red key?
now i maybe wrong

cheers for the advice. Does anyone know what has actually gone wrong with the key. (when i press the button the light flashes red?)

If the light goes on on the key, it's probably ok - you may need to get the sensor in the car checked out

ok that sounds promising. Does everybody elses light go red. And is the sensor up near the sunroof controls and is there anything I can check on it

there is a way of re programming it if u push the little bit near the sensor in ur car(near the interior lights) and put ur key up to it it should flash and reprogramme it. there is a way of doing it thats not the full method but hav a look in ur hand book it tell u there!!

ok, so I tried resetting the alarm via the instructions in the handbook. When I press the button on the roof panel the green led flashes but as soon as I press my key the light turns off (instead of staying on which is what its ment to do).

any more knowledgable people out there who would care to comment ? (tom - you normallly know most things.)

Get a new alarm my roof sensor messed up, did the same as yours, it blinked the light out as soon as i pressed it, the thing costs about £300 for the it to be replaced.

This is exactly what my HLX does.

Not much use to you I know but just thought I'd say :)

I've got a new light unit from a scrappy and it has a pcb with what appears to be an aerial wrapped around it and a few things on it (eg. leads going to volumetric sensors) so I'm guessing it might be a case of swapping that around.
