The temp switch on the dash probably needs a clean if there isnt anything displayed on the dash when you press it. what the fans go it can be the relay or the fan speed switch.

I would take a guess at both your temp sensors being shot.

Im taking a guess, you have air con ?
If yes, the outside temp sensor is in one of the side mirrors (on the passenger side on mine, but Im not from UK) and its probably shot or lost connection. The connector for it is under the black cover on the door near the A pillar. The other thing, that you dont get warm air, but cold, I would say you have a problem whit your in side temp sensor. If you have air con its between the air con and circular buton. You have to take the dash out and clean it or get a new one.

ok latest developements....

today the outside temp thing was working......the fans were working but i couldnt get them so go warm

unless i switched it to auto desteam the windows.......then it blew warm.......but off the dial it just kept blowing cold

another thing is the fans dont always blow the speed of the number there on

today they worked perfectly(other than blowing cold) the speed was perfect........until i started fiddling with the dial on the left to try and get it to warm up.......then i got an error message on the screen on the clocks

"ERROR
Cl i" looks a little like that if it helps

thing is i feel all 3 of these problems must be linked.......outside temp inside heater and inside fan all seem to be linked as there all playing up together

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP

"ERROR CLI" on the display means that your out side temp sensor is focked. Try looking under here

if the connection is OK (it should be on the passanger side, but dont know if its the case in UK), other wise you need a new sensor. The real place where the sensor is, is inside the wing mirror, under the glass. It seems that the air con measures the inside and outside temp and sets the fans/temp by them.

Fock, I forgot about the screws :( and the hole on the mirror where the sensor is.

First check the connection behind the small panel on the door, like I described above. What the screws go, you must look under the wing mirror (the side that points to the floor) and you will see 3 screws that hold the mirror platic to the pillar(black metal pece that is on your car) and 1 easy accesible screw an that isnt ;)
Will take a pic later when the rain stops.

Nr. (1) si the hole where the sensor is
Nr. (2) are the screws that hold the glass and the inner part
Nr. (3) are the screws that hold the mirror to the ÒbaseÒ

You need to unscrew the nr. (2) screws and the glass will fall out.

Like I said before, check the connector behind the pannel 1st.
It may be loose or loosing conntact

sven

Did you unclip/clip it ?
If not try, after that unscrew/screw back the door connector, it may be something loose.
