Help!! MOT Failure High Emissions

Hi there, it's come round to the dreaded MOT time and my X reg 1.8 HLX Bravo has failed it's emissions test. Last years MOT went fine with no problem what so ever. The car has now been serviced etc and has been re tested but is still failing the emissions

Can anyone tell me if there is a particular answer to this problem ? I don't have the emissions read outs to hand. The car is still at the garage as they are investigating. Any advice would be gratefully received!!

I haven't been down to the garage as the car is still there and unfortunately i didn't think to ask for the figures !!

my dad gave me a great tip..... drive to the MOT station in 2nd gear and rev the tits off it.. it will be running as sweet as a nut by tyhe time u get there.. and blow out all the cob webs in the exhaust

I second that I always book a time, fill her up with petrol and go for at least a 20 min hard fast drive, keeping the revs up, get there bang on time and ask them to do the emmisions test right away
