Hi, I hope someone can help with this. My Multipla has developed a squeak from the front of the car. It sounds a bit like a fan belt squeak, but if while you're going along you turn the engine off and coast in neutral, the noise remains - so it HAS to be related to the wheels/brakes/drivetrain. The pitch of the noise increases with the speed.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks very much

Nick

Hi Custard. Applying the brakes does not change the noise in any way, so it must be something else. What do we think - wheel bearing perchance?

Thanks

This maybe sounds daft, but could it be caused by air? Something caught or split on the underside; undermotor cover loose maybe, making the whistling noise? This would alter with speed. Wheel bearing noise can alter with speed as well, but it also tends to alter when cornering.
