to be honest i would only attempt it if it was up on ramps. So i would personally leave it to a garage.

Wuss, though you'll note from the video I did use my air powered windy gun.

Thanks Ziggy, funny enough I discovered that channel on YouTube and have subscribed a few weeks ago.

of course you did why wouldn't you its an awesome channel and I understand the owner is dashing and charming and all round great guy...

It is an easy job (ish) as long as you don't sheer bolts then spend hours trying to drill them out!

and having the bolts in and out before doesn't seem to make that much difference as a lot of the bolts are stainless and weld themselves to the steel components

Says they don't fit the 1.9JTD models which mine is. Do you know if they are variations between the MK2's?

don't bother with Ebay, parts are often substandard especially when cheap and from unheard of sellers. there is a lot of crap coming from china which isn't safety tested or approved

go to http://www.gsfcarparts.com put your reg in and it will usually give you a couple of options for prices. and you can either click and collect or you could just go in to your local branch and often get a better deal. i often negotiate a better deal over the counter, although now my brother has his own VW camper company I simply get him to order the bits for trade
