help - bravo running rough

help - my bravo 99v 1.6 hlx 100 16 v is running really rough. the injector light has come on and the spark plugs keep getting sooted even after i changed them.
what could the problem be?

Any one of a number of things.

Sounds Lambda/Induction-ish.

Time to go to Fiat.

When exactly does the injection light come on?

Yep, I've got this problem too! Mines off into fiat dealership on Friday for diagnosis. I'll let you know what they say. The injector light is only on intermittently - maybe 1 sec on a 1hr run. Generally tho' pickup is weaker than normal most of the time and power really drops off when the light is on. By the way, mines a 2000W 1.6sx with 89000miles. Any ideas before dealer scares the s*^t out of me? Cheers Levi

Hi guys im new to this site and saw this message about the injector light! well i had this prob with my bravo its a 1997 R on 57k miles.problems with the injectors is a known problem with these cars and fiat recommend u change all 4 injectors at the same time.... its not cheap at just under £100 each! but there is a way of finding out wich one has failed and just getting the one injector! but its a bit complicated to explain! sorry

Its a problem with pre 2000 1.6 engines as Weber changed the injector design in late 1999.

Its a doddle to work out which injector is duff, either go to fiat and get a diagnostic or take the spark plugs out and find the clean one.

But I don't think that was Andys problem.
