HELP - BRAVA 1.8 HORN ON CONSTANTLY!

My turn!

Friends 1.8ELX - the horn goes off everytime you open a door, start it etc. Tried all the things in the manual etc

Even put the mater key in and tried that. But the horn goes bibidy bid as you put the key in let alone turn it!

Its not only driving him mad...but the whole area - any ideas?

yeah, tried everything in the manual different keys, locking it, holding th ebutton down etc

Perhaps a short some where?

Perhaps try pulling the fuses one by one while the horn is sounding (but it may take a while and **** ppl off). If it stops you have found the offending circuit.

Dont know if this worth while or not?

I had this prob in my old nova, it was nothing to do with the alarm though. My horn was also mounted on the steering wheel, and it was earthed on a ring of brass connected to the steering column. It turned out i had a bad earth, so everytime i took a left turn it would come on and stay on until i took the fuse out. My advice is check your earthing point.

No, this isn't horn button related. It is definenetly alarm circuit as it activates when you unlock it, lock it, open a door, switch the ignition on, switch the ignition off, open the bonnet etc. You can move the steering wheel about merrily and it makes no difference. It still drives though. It must be something to do with the perimiter surveillance so we are going to go through all the doors, boot, and bonnet sensors - and break them off!
