My wife's R reg 1.4S Brava has (apparently) had the CODEW ignition warning light on for a week or so. It has sunsequently refused to start. I've read as much as I can find on you website about possible causes.
We've got the red key but did not get a card from the supplying (FIAT) dealer
Any advice as to whether it could be battery problem or how wo go about getting the code from FIAT.
Cheers

Richard

fiat will supply the code but will charge to do so, you need to take your log book & mot to your nerest main dealer.

from the boo site,

Battery
If the key code light stays on the 1st thing to check is the battery condition

This is funny but true.
I used to have the bad habit of picking my ears with my car keys. Over the weeks, due to the sticky substance from my ears, the key became filthy with dust that stuck on to it.
One fine day i try to start my lil fiat and lo and behold the engine will turn but wont fire up.
Luckily it occured to me to change to the spare and clean key and....vrrooomm. It turned out that the immobiliser could not recognize the key.

Nowadays, the immobiliser on my Bravo doesnt work anymore...honestly speaking, I dont know what still works on my car anymore.
