Hi all
You guessed it, out little beloved Betty twin air is having issues.
I am on some Facebook pages, but been meaning to join this site since we got her, not having any real issues at all other then a few niggles and usual services, not really needed to find out problems.
Some history of our Betty.
Had her from 40,000 miles now on 110,000
Had 2 new batterys.
Expansion coolant bottle.
Brakes front 3x
Brake rear 1x
Brakes front discs
Drop link x1
1 drivers front caliper.
Several oil/ filter changes with Selina oil.
3x air filters.
1x pollen filter.
2x door handles.
Tyres x6 plus the ones on when bought.
This takes her up to 104,000 miles.
This is when the clutch went.
New clutch.
Slave clutch cylinder.
Plugs plus normal services.
Gearbox oil.
This has ran until 108,000 miles
New thermostate housing.
New water pump, but broke the housing so had a new housing aswell.
I bought everything to do the cam chain and water pump ect for a full on service.
Just did the water pump too cold and dark now.
I don't think that too bad for 6 years owned and it has been just mainly service and the odd parts spread out.
I fix it my self I used to do a lot with cars years ago so it's not too much of a problem for me.
So that's the story of our little Betty.
We decided to keep her and go full hog with the serious repairs like the chain and water pump and few other bit on my list now.
She was bought as a present for my partner for her 30th birthday. She didn't know about it, I dropped it off at her work it's all stickered up as well with Betty Boop with private plate too.
It's a special little car because her mum died when she was young and her mum loved Betty Boop, she had a Citroen 2cv white and red with massive Betty Boop all over it, so I did a subtle one for her as a special present when she finished work.
Great memory so we or I am trying to keep her going for as long as possible.
Has a lot of value in memories to just get rid.
Hope I get to help some people as much as being helped my self.
Keith
