Hi,
I met up with a few of you guys today at the Italian car day, I thought I was already a member but I was confusing you with another site so I have just joined.
It was a great day, it was good to chat about Grande Punto Sportings with people who appreciate them too and to see so many superb Italian cars.
I am on my 3rd Fiat, a red Grande Punto Sporting Multijet, before that I had a Multipla and a barchetta and they have all been great.( I have also had 5 Alfas, I am addicted to Italian cars)
Cheers
Robert.

hey lo :D

Was rather amusing when your daughter keep trying to open the bonnet up :D

Yup yup great meeting oyu and was half shocked you smoked a civic type R!!!!

Hope to see you in future meets :)

Ming

Thanks

It was an older type R but I did enjoy the surprised look on the guys face, lots of people seem to be surprised to be blown away by a punto but 207 lb/ft of torque does give serious mid range acceleration. :)

I hope to be along to meets in the future, once I get the TVR properly sorted I might come in that if you guys don't mind a non Fiat car coming along.

Robert.

What happens in that situation is that the non-fiat usually get set on fire :p

But i would love to see a TVR :)

Thats the one!

I am glad you guys would not set my TVR on fire, they are quite good at spontaneously combusting without any outside help!

Here is a recent pic(it also includes a Fiat so it should be allowed)

Welcome to the site guys (y)

Love those old TVRs, the sound of those Rover/V8s is fantastic, though there's nothing wrong with the AJP8 or Speed Six cars either ;)

I like the AJP8 and speed six cars too but I decided that a rover V8 engined car would be cheaper/easier to maintain.
It does sound absolutely superb but it is very loud and sets off the alarm in my Mitsubishi every time I start it up, it is a good job I have an understanding neighbor!

I looked at Chims too but I went for the 400SE because it is rarer, a bit more focused than the chim (which is set up quite softly) and safer(my kids go in it so safety matters to me), it has a roll hoop round the screen and side impact beams in the doors because previous versions were sold in the US and had to pass their crash test laws, later chims and griffiths don't have this.
Mine also has a roll over bar which was fitted by a previous owner who used to use it on the track.

i was sat alongide a cerbera at lights when i first got my cinq and it was in it's full vocal range. he obviously thought he would show me what a loud car sounds like, so i thought i would show him mine wasn't as quiet as he thought it would be ;) , by god was the tvr loud though!!!!, i liked it, alot ;)

i had to laugh though when the lights turned green, the tvr started to pull away, shuddered and stopped, all its lights flashing randomly..... great cars, but god, they make cinqs look well built!

It is too early to tell how reliable my 400SE will be but I fully expect it too have the odd problem, it is all part of TVR ownership but it is only a toy so if it has a few problems it is not the end of the world cos I can just use my totally reliable Grande Punto.
