So, today I bought an '07 Panda 4x4. Pretty high mileage but full service history and seems pretty tight and tidy. It's possibly had some work done to the sills as they're now black rather than body colour.

I fancied getting a Panda but wanted something a bit more special than a standard vanilla version. Anyway, I spotted this 4x4 20 mins away. Viewed it and bought it. Seems pretty good to me based on first few drives and my inspection but I'm not an expert! I'll probably put it into a mate's garage to get it checked over but I'm happy with it so far :)

I'll take some photos of the car and post them up, but it's been hammering rain most of the day and I think tomorrow is pretty well a washout too!

I've been a fan of Italian cars for years. Mainly Alfas though. Previously had a Punto and not the Panda.

Found the forum through a Google search and thought I'd join up to see what the Panda scene is, what mods folks do and how best to look after it. I'll have a wee read tonight and see what the forum has in store.

Cheers all and maybe see you around the boards.

Welcome! I kind of went the opposite way from Fiat to Alfa, but I do still own a little Seicento ;)
Hopefully you can get some good info out of the Panda boyz

I included the Seicento in my search for a small Fiat. They're cool cars! Would've liked a Sporting but it proved to be not that easy to find a good one. Not locally at least.

I currently have 2 Alfas; Spider and GTV. Both are 916 models. GTV is phase 1 and the Spider a phase 2.

What's your Alfa?

Welcome

Is it a diesel or petrol model?

It's petrol. Couldn't see a diesel one - would've been better for fuel consumption. Is there much difference in power between D & P? P feels a bit under powered but I didn't buy it to be quick so not really worried.

I was slightly nervous going out to see if the Panda would start this morning! Always a big test the day after a purchase! Anyway, it fired up first time

My Sei was my first ever car, and I've kept it because I was silly and modified it so who would want to buy it? ;)
I've got a 1.6 diesel MiTo now as I'm commuting ~100 miles a day so needed something more comfortable for mile munching.

I took a couple of quick pics of the Panda earlier today.... in the pouring rain! *Attempts to insert images...*

Yay! It worked!

I wouldn't mind getting roof bars fitted. Either they were removed or never fitted? I thought they were standard on 4x4 model? Anyway, if anyone has or knows where to get bars that'd be great. Then I can get my bike on the roof!

in line ones are expensive and like rocking horse droppings.
across the roof type are on ebay for around 80 quid.....

Welcome, i added these to mine, vast all round vision made the car look chunkier Ebay 262817852243 straight fit, sticky draught excluder required as seen when you remove originals, extra touch wind deflectors,,,,

Cheers for the info. Hmm... I have bars that I'd just have to change the feet of to fit the Panda so I may do that while I keep an eye out for inline bars.
