Hi all.

Just wanted to say a quick 'hello'. I have been a member on here for a while but only asked a couple questions then left the fold.

I am now looking at getting rid of my Zafira and replacing it with a variant of the previous generation Panda. Small economical cars have always appealed to me. Dunno whether to go Eleganza or 4x4 - they both hold an appeal for me. The 4x4's seem few and far between, cost alot relatively speaking and generally seem to have higher mileage. The only ones for sale near me are at Woodleigh and that doesn't seem to be a good thing (according to threads / posts here) although their pricing appears similar to other dealers further afield to me. The one I would be interested in is burgundy / red and costs £4k, has 78000 miles and is a 55reg

The Eleganza I have seen is a 59 reg, bellydance (beige), less than 20k miles and costs £4400.

Both cars are 1.2 petrol

4x4 looks cool, eleganza may be more reliable for longer.....

I hate decisions:confused:!

Anyway,

Hello everyone and thanks for a great, interesting forum!

Rich:)

Yeah I guess so. the 4x4 doesn't appear to be much better on fuel than my 1.6 petrol zafira which means that the smaller panda fuel tank will see me at the petrol station even more than I am now  I do love the look of the 4x4 though (prob due to my history of Landrovers and off roading) It's a proper heart vs head situation!

Thanks for the reply!

Rich

It know exactly what you mean about heart over head Rich.

Out of interest what sort of annual mileage wouldn't you been looking at doing? Might be worth working out fuel cost difference, weighing up the fact the Eleganza will have a lot more on the spec sheet than most 4x4's, and road tax of a later Eleganza is about 2/3 of the 4x4's.

My annual mileage is only about for a 4x4 isn't 7000 so fuel cost for the 4x4 isn't too much of an issue. Knowing that I could be doing better in a 2wd both on fuel and tax and parts availability is my new issue, as well as the 4x4 premium I would have to pay to buy a 4x4! I have decided to concentrate my search on 2wd!

I would dearly love the 4x4 but realistically, I would never use the extra ability afforded by 4wd. I will stick to watching the you tube vids though!

I am going to post some links to cars I'm going to look at in my post in the Panda section. Feel free to comment.....

Cheers,

Rich
