Hello everyone, Im looking for some advice on my R reg 1.2 Fiat Punto. Its been revving on its own whilst sat at traffic lights, and overheats after a while. Now im not sure what it is atall, because im really not clued up on this sort of thing. I had the headgasket replaced about 6 months ago and all was well up until about a month ago when it started doing this again. I have limited funds and need to fix the car in order to get to and from work without looking like a revvingspaz sat at traffic lights. The car gets so hot it sounds like its churning up and I have to stop and wait for ages for it to cool down. Hope this gives you an idea of the issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Cheers. :)

Hi Patterson and welcome to the forum.

There could be quite a few reasons for the over revving which as well as being a problem in its own right will exaggerate any cooling system inadequacies that may already exist. Take a look at the thread below and also do a search in the Punto section for more ideas if none of these are the cause of the problem.

Good luck and hope you get it sorted quickly. (y)
