Hello! I'm new - with a problem

Hi all...

I'm new, I've signed up because I took my Punto 1.2 into the garage today, cos I heard this awful crunky/crunchy/squeaking sound (read a few threads already on this) at the rear.

When I mentioned it to the garage man, he said that he thought it would be Swing Arm.... costing quite a bit of money

Anyhoo... He's checked her over and said he can't see anything wrong with it..... but the noise is still there!!!!!

He said, basically all I can do is wait til it gets worse, or wait for it to fail it's MOT, but i'm putting it in for the MOT at end of month.....

What to do what to do....

pee.ess..... took everything out of my boot - it's not that....

Creaking swing arm bushes are common failures. There's a kit to change but a whole new arm only should cost £100 incl labour

I'm new here too, came with a head gasket problem,
but last MOT, about 16 months ago I got an advisory note about my swing arm and my car has carried on fine apart from the obvious
okay, i didn't really understand about what a swing arm is or does but i've just left mine alone, it does make a constant noise but I'm used to that now,

hmmm i sometimes get squeeks from the rear of my car... its only when im on a bumpy road... hadnt better be the bloody swing arm

erm... well, there is a squeak but it's not as soft as a squeak.... imagine loose spanners in your boot... metal on metal... that kinda thing....

i've only had this car a few months, but i can just tell its gonna be a pain...

and Rich.... mine started as a squeak... it just got worse

i can't bare to hear her yelp like that... she turns heads and not in the good way

Get underneath the back whilst a friend bounces the car. You should be able to tell where it's coming from.

Perhaps you have some spanners in your wheel well
