fiat grande punto 1.3 multijet diesel- im i correct to say that it is TDi?or JTD?

plz help me understnd.
so is it Injection
is it turbo?
and what the hell does JTD stand for?

Hi and welcome. I have a Panda with the JTD engine. If you take the turbo off this engine it would produce about 40bhp as normally aspirated (non-turbo) diesels produce much less power than their petrol counterparts. Also all diesels are fuel injected as in order to burn fuel efficiently, it has to be forced into the cylinders at much higher pressure than a carburettor would be capable of. Common rail systems have only one fuel line with four separate injectors (one for each cylinder) and because of the design can force the fuel in at even higher pressures than a conventional system. Common Rail, incidentally was, a FIAT invention which was then developed in conjunction with Bosch. Hope this helps. Hope I got this right.
