Sorry, bit of a 'puter numpty it would appear.
So Ola and feliz anno novo from the sunny Algarve. I'm from Jockland originally and have been bumming about down here in the sunshine for about 7 or so years and 3 or so years past bought our 94 Punto 55 when I decided my love affair with Solihulls finest ( 82 Range Rover Classic & 89 ex RAF 110 Landrover Defender ) was costing a bomb, fuel not being so cheap here, and keeping 2x 3.5 ltr V8's going was digging into my red wine fund !
I have to say I really like the little Punto, as does the missus, but it has had it's problems.
Because of the climate down here tin worm isn't an issue, but, because of the climate down here no one uses anti freeze or coolant and the water damage done to engines that are not so old has to be seen to be believed.
Still, down here Puntos are like bottoms (everyone has one) so parts and bits are easy to come by and fairly cheap so in no time I've became a bit of a waterpump, thermostat, radiator, heater matrix,cylinder head expert on the model.
One thing niggles about the car though ! Which brain dead, stupid, penny pinching wazzock thought that it was a good idea to delete the temp gauge from the model and not only that either, oh no, said wazzock then replaced said temp gauge with a red "I'll only come on when it's too late and your engine is toast" warning light that you can't see anyway 'cos it's hidden by the steering wheel !? Progress !? O meu coo !!
Anyhoo, now off to rest my weary typing fingers and enjoy some of that red wine I can now afford. Hello once again and a happy new year.
