Greetings from Germany Jo

hi jo, thxs for your welcoming,,,
Turkish automotive company (Tofas) produced uno series between 1994-2001 with several models; 70s- 70sxie-70sxie hobby .hence uno is just made for city life because of its size, it is still very popular in Istanbul. Also you can find spare part very easily. Both the original spare part and subsidiary industry. Think that a headlight of uno just cost 10 euros. Then we can call the Turkey as paradise of Uno spare parts :)

Anyway I have sxie model with hydraulic streering and it really makes difference if compared with the non-hydraulic steering especially when parking. I will upload my UNOCAN pics on saturday.
take care,,,

Thxs for your hot welcoming Partsworld Uk ,,, and also Jo,,,
Tofas factory is located in Bursa(city in near the Istanbul). partsworld, you should inform me when your next visit to Istanbul.
Yes jo, you can find all spare parts and also modifying items in turkey, what do u need just tell me , on this saturday i am planning to go to the spare part shop. I will apply park sensor -headlight sensor - automatic window module to my UNOCAN(i call my uno as UNOCAN ) . All this applications will cost to be 100 euros including erection costs. But it will provide me better parking capacity and also add additional value :)
Anyway, just tell me what are u looking for and i can check its price for your :)

the what?

I have no idea what that could be! :D

have you got a picture at all?

*giggle*
He said erection. :D

Welcome to the forum!
Hi to you Ucof, what a nice welcome :)
Sorry for my limited vocabulary, sometimes it is really hard to use the appropriate word if you are not talking your native language. I am sure that you will feel same thing if you try to speak Turkish :)
Anyway, it is really great to find people abroad who interest the same thing like you. Here is my UNOCAN , i just took the photos today after washed by myself. ı took photos with my cell phone, therefore sorry for bad resolution. later i am planning to take better photos.

In Germany we´re looking for the alloy covered isolation on the splashback (engine bay).
Tell me how much they will cost.
If the price is reasonable I might take 5-10.

(i call you jo,if it is problem for you, pls do not hesitate to warn me)
I can not understand exactly what are you looking for with ''alloy covered isolation on the splashblack (engine bay)''

Hi, No I look for a part that is attached to the wall between the engine bay and the cabin of the car. It´s silver and keeps the head from the engine from the cabin of the car.Look here, it´s put on part 16

I have one that is not new from my Uno Turbo. It is not in perfect condition. If you are interested, PM me as we should not discuss business here.

Ahhhh.. the heatsheild fabric/ bulkheat sound deadening material.! :D

Absolutely no offence intended, sir! :)
I couldn't even start to speak Turkish!
The word "erection" has other ruder meanings in english, and I have the humour of a 6 year old! :D

Not 'rude' exactly, just more exciting than intended. I laughed when I saw it too, was this some kind of new payment option? ;)

But of course we still know the original definitions and so the word erection still makes sense (we would say "plus fitting costs" or "plus setting-up costs").

Words like this have slipped out of regular usage as their definitions have changed. "I'm going out to the site to work on my erection" would certainly be understood the wrong way. Fifty years ago, a bicycle with brightly-painted wheels and coloured streamers would have looked quite gay, but now to say the same makes more of a statement than intended.

Tsk tsk Ucof, I'm sure you could have worked out that the "alloy-covered isolation on the splashback" is the foil-covered insulation on the firewall. :) I tend to make my own insulation for that or repair it with thick aluminium foil tape (made by 3M). Hardware shops usually have some kind of foil used in buildings. The tape is sold for repairing foil ducts.

Kinda hard finding the right expressions as I learn here once again.
English is not very easy, as technical terms are hard to translate and often not a single word.
I laughed when I read "firewall"
A guy in the German UNO Forum lost his Turbo when people started
shouting at him as he was driving down the road .
Something leaked and his car dragged a line of fire behind.
I got a look on it, a friend bought it and will rebuilt it with parts of a
UNO beyond repair that I own.

Hi , Uno lovers,
When you were kidding with my ''perfect english'' :) , i was looking for the item that Jo interested. There are some subsidiary industry factories that produces this '' fire wall'' . I just contacted with some of them and waiting for their price. I think tommorow i shall learn the price and inform you insallah...
take care gentlemans...
ps: alex ;special thanks to you for grammar lesson. I am serious in thanking you , corrections just like as you did, improve my english proficiency.
But sometimes its really hard to find suitable word in technical subjects. But

As ESL guy too, I just want to chime in to "English" discussion :)
Yes, it's sometimes impossible to express myself in English, espec in technical stuff :(

Jo, that fire damage looks nasty!
Is THAT really doable? ;)
