Seicento hello and help

Hi All

New to this forum lark and also to seicento ownership.
Bought one for my sons first car and it has issues!!!

It is a 2001 sporting that will not start. It has only one blue key and I have been told that the immobiliser is not reading it.

I have scouted numerous threads, but cant find a definative answer on how to proceed

I look forward to any help you can provide.

When you turn the key in the ignition do you see the yellow key symbol come on, and does it stay on or go out?
