500 Hello All

Hello,

I've had my Fiat 500 for 9 months now and am very pleased with it. Just found one technical fault that has cropped up today so I decided to join you all and see if you could help. My right front DRL has decided not to work - the bulb is fine and if you put the main headlights on it lights up but as soon as you turn them off it turns off. The left hand light works fine. I've checked the connections etc... but to no avail. I have disabled the DRLs via the menu for the time being but would like to know if anyone else has had this particular issue.

Hello and welcome!
The real experienced peeps will be on later - to my mind it sounds like the light has a twin filament, switching to the other one when the main lights are switched on.
But that could be (and probably is) a load of nonsense.
Yet I can't see why the bulb works only part time.

Well, I thought at least some others might have popped by to say hello!

Never mind, the bulb has a dual rating, 5/21 W. Whether it can burn at two different intensities, or has twin filaments, I am not sure. It is an all glass bulb that simply pulls out of it's socket. If it has become even slightly loose, the contact may become too poor for the lower currant.

If you can get to it, either check the seating - or simply replace, it should be a cheap bulb.
