Hello All, a new Brava 1.4sx driver here!

Hey all!

My names Ricky, i just joined because ive inherited my mums

Metallic Silver (1998) Brava 1.4SX

Im a 17 year old male (but not a yob or boy racer )

ive worked on my car a few times over the last few years with my dad,

we have:
- Replaced the brake pads and drums on the rear wheels
- Replaced the pads on both front wheels
- Changed the oil,
- Replaced a blown gasket
- Replaced a burnt out air conditioning fan motor (it burnt out spewing smoke into the car (not nice ))
- Fixed a major dent in the back and touched up the paint after my mum backed into a wall

- Replaced the right rear headlight twice (my sister learning, backed into a steel post, and my mum hitting the wall destroyed it too!)



So ive done a far bit of work on the car and its taken a bit of a beating but it keeps coming back for more! and thats what i love

So ive just joined the forum cus i was doing a search on why my 2nd gear is crashing and it seems to be what i originally thought! (syncro worn out!)

I was also looking at how to remove the gearnob as mines all scratched and worn and i want to put on a universal replacement that i picked up.

hey thanks for that! During the time that i posted and you replied i managed to fit the new one anyway, but thanks again!

pretty straight foward really, i just pulled up hard and the gaiter and its mountings came with, i just slipped the old knob off, fastened the new one on, and now it looks great!
