ok I am a cab driver in a new shape 2006 Doblo 1.9 Multijet
I wont pay the ridiculous Fiat service Prices, however the oil change light and the service light still obviously come on.
no one has the software at this time to reset these lights which means you have to go to Fiat dealership and hey ho they charge you £40

so your options?

Pay a reduced rate at your local garage and then pay FIat £40 to reset your service/oil lights

Pay a bit more and Pay Fiat anyway

its like your held to ransom and Im sure it has to be illegal

bear in mind i have oil change every 6000 and full service every 12000 i do 45000 a year

I feel cheated :bang: (n)

The oil change light isn't there to make money, its a intergral part of the oil degredation system. Its becoming very common on diesel engines of all makes.

Surely as a cabbie you must be on friendly terms with local dealer:confused:

Your missing my point
Only Fiat can reset the oil change light
as I said I have my oil changed every 6000 / service every 12 but surely I should not have to go to fiat to be charged £40 to have the lights reset??

my firm has spent over £250000 on Fiats but because we bought them in Morecambe (RAYRIGG SUPERB) the local Fiat dealers are less than helpful.
PArk Gate Fiat try to worm there way out of any warranty work.
My door Checkstrap becale loose and they blamed me saying I waited to long.
I phoned them the DAY it started happening. They booked me in 1 week later.

ALso I have had to change 6 brake lights in 9 weeks
I asked them to investigate and they again blamed me for having TAXI equpment in my car. I said Fiat Fitted All my taxi equipment and the reply was..YOull have to take it up with Rayrigg Fiat Morecambe:bang:
They finally found out it was a faulty brake light switch!!!

Trust me I would think again before buying another Fiat not because of the car but because of the after sales service here.

And are Fiat the only manufactuer that does this? are Fiat the only manufactuer that uses oil degredation system........simple answer NO!

Shouldn't Fiat have set prices for a service? My dealer has a sort of menu up on the wall displaying set prices for a service for all models so you know what you're going to pay before you ask.

Yes...new price menu boards are beng sent out to dealers

Can you not go back to Rayrigg (sorry I dont know where that is in relation to your area) if so surely they would take a understanding view since you have spent so much with them;)

Thats wrong..it doesn't matter when the fault (such as yours) was reported. Were they fully booked up for the week ahead?

unfortunately Morecambe is a 6 hour drive so not really feasible

yes they were fully booked and could not do it any earlier

Fiat in Morecambe fitted all my equipment!!

I dont know if Fiat are the only company to do this because I have never bought a new car with Warranty until now
IF other firms charge you for resetting your oil/service lights thne I think thats wrong also!

well there is no chance
they are reluctant to help because we bought the fleet up north!
youd never t hink they were all on the same side would you?

I paid £150 for a 36k service at Fiat in Chepstow... at the time though the car had only done 30k and is now about to hit 36k 5months on :)

Might have to check out this garage for my next service :D

Is this the dealer Ozzie? Motor Services Chepstow

But I can definitely recommend Vale motors for anyone in the South West.
