Technical heater glow plugs ??

Can anyone help me on this one ? my fiat scudo 2.0 jtd 2005 problem is the power to the glow plugs , there is no power to them with ignition on but when the engine is started they get power an the main feed wire to them gets very hot so i had to disconnect it , some thing is happening the wrong way round, any ideas, Martin.

Hi.I'm no expert but I'm guessing there could be a problem with the relay. It's on the inside of the drivers wing. Little black box with a cable clipped in the bottom of it.
