The heater blower control on my 2005 Ducato will only work on the highest setting, would this be the resisters or the switch,I have tried to get at the control but gave up after an hour of taking bits off,is there an easy way to get at it unless it is the resister which doesn't look to bad to remove.
Please help
Don

Easist to check resistor pack first. The thermal fuse in the pack may have blown. There are earlier posts regarding the same issue, and instructions on how to access the switch if need be. Type something like this into the search box- Fan heater not blowing air

I have removed the brown resistor unit and had a look inside, nothing burnt,on one of the posts on the heater it was suggested that the thermal overload could be blown, has any one any idea where this is as it can be bypassed i believe.

Found the resistors,I was fooled by them being referred to as brown, mine are sunk into the fan housing held with one screw, they are green with the thermal cutout above, bypassed it and hay presto it worked.
Should I renew the cutout if I can get hold of one, does anyone know the value.

Hello
Doubt if you will find a repalcement other than at a breakers, but you could try popping the unit in the deep freeze( in a a bag!) to reset the bi-metal.
Hope it works.

HI Phil,Maplins do them for 83p RA17T,I will fix with a connector and not solder.
