I have the winter pack in my 4x4 and my heated seats are lovely on a cold frosty morning. However, they come on and warm me up in a few minutes of driving and then it goes off (heated seats light is still illuminated). After maybe an hour of driving they might give me another heat boost but they don’t seem to stay heating constantly. Is this what everyone else’s does or are mine faulty?

I have only had1 car with heated seats (Vauxhall) These were thermostatic and switched off after a while. After that they would come back when the seat cooled. After you turn the car off they needed to be switched on again needed to be turned on again. Gewnerally you go pretty hot if they were left on.

Yeah my ones in my Volvo seem to be on a thermostat and come on and off to keep the seat warm but they come on and off every few mins whereas the panda can go off for an hour before coming back on which doesn’t seem to suggest a thermostat

Pretty sure they will be controlled (to prevent overheating) Certainly the case for my Volvos (don't have specific FIAT experience).

They do go on and off to prevent overheating although that seems pretty quick, then quite long before they kick back in again. Having said that I do know that if I have left them on to the point they switch themselves off, I have noticed myself that they take a while before they decide to heat again.

I have used the heated seats on two Pandas over the last week but as they get so warm so quickly I tend to switch them off myself after five minutes or so!

Yes - there’s a thermostat. Mine come back on more swiftly than an hour, but I couldn’t say how long. But the switch light stays on throughout. I also suspect they don’t warm up if there’s no one sat on the seat (so, Euroben, maybe you’re too light)

Mine definitely do heat up without anybody sitting on the seat. I know that as I tested them for assisting in keeping pizza warm!

So it seems that mine aren’t faulty then. That must just be how they are. It may not be an hour, I haven’t actually timed it but it does seem like a long time.
